The best UK Search Engine Optimisation Companies

Each year for the last 4 years I have done a survey to find the best SEO companies in the UK based on their performance on their own behalf in achieving top rankings on their major key phrases. These phrases are likely to be particularly competitive because the industry sector is itself very competitive, with no dominant brands, and because this is a significant and visible proof of performance for potential clients.

The key phrases are found in the Overture UK keyword assistant tool and are as follows:

1) A continuing increase in the number of searches

2) Searchers are becoming more sophisticated and are using more specific phrases.

I checked the top 10 companies under each of the 5 phrases in the top 3 search engines: Google.co.uk, Yahoo.co.uk and MSN.co.uk. The table below shows the number of top positions held by each company.
